Some days, this verse is easy to celebrate. Other days, it takes everything in you to believe it.
When you’re grieving, waiting, or trying to find your footing again, “all things” can feel like a heavy promise.
But Paul doesn’t say everything that happens is good. He says God works through all things for good. Even in suffering, His love remains present and His purpose continues.
The next verse helps us understand that purpose: becoming more like Christ. Sometimes the good begins quietly—in patience we didn’t have before, compassion born from our own pain, or the courage to take one faithful step.
I don’t understand every chapter of my life. I still have questions. But I’m learning to bring those questions to God and trust Him with what I cannot yet see.
Today, I’ll do the good within my reach, love the people He places before me, and leave room for grace.
Lord, help me trust You with the unfinished parts.
I love You, Jesus.
