The Cornerstone That Completes the Equation

In 1931, Kurt Gödel proved something that still humbles the smartest minds on earth. Any system of rules complex enough to do basic math will always contain truths it cannot prove from inside itself. Add more rules, and new unprovable truths appear. No system can complete itself.
I believe that’s more than a lesson in mathematics. It’s a lesson about us.
We try to build complete lives out of our own rules. We stack up plans, habits, money, reputation, and good intentions, hoping the whole thing will finally hold together. But something is always missing. There’s always a truth we can’t reach on our own, a gap our best logic can’t close. Gödel showed it in numbers. Most of us learn it the hard way, in life.
I believe Jesus is the final cornerstone that completes this equation.
Scripture says the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. A cornerstone isn’t one more brick in the pile. It’s the stone everything else lines up with. It comes first and holds the whole structure true. Without it, every wall eventually leans.
We don’t complete the equation by working harder inside our own system. We complete it by stepping outside ourselves and following the One who came from beyond it. That’s what imitating Christ means to me: loving my neighbor, forgiving the people who hurt me, serving instead of grabbing, telling the truth when it costs something, and getting back up when I fall. None of that is a formula I can prove on paper. It’s a way of living that proves itself over time.
Gödel spent his life showing that truth is bigger than any box we build to hold it. I believe that truth has a name and a face. He walked among us, and He still invites us to walk with Him, one step at a time.
That’s the good news. The equation doesn’t have to stay unfinished. The missing piece has already been laid. All we have to do is build on it.
