Sweet Home Alabama — Lynyrd Skynyrd

To Alabama: home, complicated, beautiful, still mine.

This one is for the state that has given me so much: my roots, my family, my music, and more memories than I could ever fit into a single post.

Alabama is where so much of my story lives. It is where I have loved, raised my daughters, made friends, played music, and kept finding reasons to begin again. When that familiar guitar comes through the speakers, I hear something bigger than a song. I hear home.

And home can be complicated.

Right now, I am facing prosecution in Jefferson County. That is part of my present experience, and it brings real hurt and uncertainty. I can acknowledge those feelings while giving thanks for everything good this place has given me. Both belong in an honest telling of my story.

My love for Alabama leaves room for questions. My gratitude leaves room for grief. My faith gives me somewhere to bring both.

I want to keep my heart open, even through a difficult chapter. I want to remember the people who have encouraged me, the musicians who have shared a stage with me, and the everyday kindness that rarely makes the headlines.

There is still good to do here.

There are children who need a chance to ride, neighbors who need encouragement, and songs that can bring people together. Through WeRockTV and the work of Iron City Trykes, I hope to contribute something good to the place that helped shape me.

“Blessed are the peacemakers.” — Matthew 5:9

That is a calling I can keep working toward, right here at home.

So this dedication comes with gratitude, a few scars, and a prayer: Lord, help me love my neighbors, speak honestly, and use what You have given me to bring light.

Alabama, thank you for the music, the memories, and the chance to keep growing with faith and hope.

With love,
Jase Carns
