Some songs are about arriving. Others are about the journey.
Led Zeppelin’s “Ramble On,” from Led Zeppelin II (1969), belongs to the second category. Robert Plant sings of wandering, searching, and leaving yesterday behind. Jimmy Page’s guitar dances between acoustic tenderness and electric power, while John Paul Jones and John Bonham give the song its unmistakable heartbeat.
There’s even a little Tolkien woven into the lyrics. But underneath the wandering lies something deeply human: the desire to find where we belong. Perhaps we’re all rambling toward something greater than ourselves.
“Follow me.” — Matthew 4:19 (KJV)
He never promised the road would be easy. He promised we wouldn’t have to walk it alone. Keep rambling. Keep seeking. Keep the faith.
