There’s an old joke about the secret to a happy relationship: the man says yes, the woman says no, and somehow, the woman is always right.
Q-Tip’s “Man Woman Boogie” brings to mind that eternal dance between men and women.
He says yes. She says no. He thinks he’s right. She knows she’s right.
Somewhere between the disagreement, the laughter, and the occasional surrender, two people figure out how to dance together.
Maybe the secret isn’t winning every argument. Maybe it’s remembering that being right isn’t nearly as important as being happy together.
Of course, if you ask her, she’ll tell you she already knew that.
The moral of the story? Gentlemen, sometimes the smartest thing you can say is, “Yes, dear.” And if you disagree, well, you’re probably wrong.
