A vision can show us the destination while leaving the difficult road ahead unseen. We get excited about what could be. If we could see every setback, sacrifice, and season of waiting, we might be afraid to begin.
Think about Joseph.
In Genesis 37, Joseph dreamed of his brothers bowing before him. Those dreams didn’t reveal the pit, being sold into slavery, the false accusation, or the prison.
Years later, Joseph held responsibility in Egypt and helped preserve lives during famine—including the lives of the brothers who had betrayed him.
Looking back, he could say:
📖 “Ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good.” — Genesis 50:20
Joseph’s story gives me a way to reflect on this message: the destination captures our imagination, while the journey calls for patience, humility, courage, and faithfulness.
Along the way, we can pray, seek wise counsel, adjust our plans, and keep doing the good that is within reach today.
📖 “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” — Proverbs 16:9
The vision inspires us. The journey shapes us. Take the next faithful step.
