The Natural (1984)

Roy Hobbs has a gift, but one foolish choice steals sixteen years of his life. When he returns as a middle-aged rookie, nobody believes in him. Every one of us knows that feeling: a wasted gift, a wandering path, and fear it’s too late to come home.

Seen through a Christian lens, The Natural is a story of redemption. Roy is tempted by money, pride, and fame, but Iris reminds him we all have two lives: the one we learn with and the one we live after that. With Wonderboy shattered, he swings anyway, and the lights explode.

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
