The Last Waltz — The Band

On Thanksgiving Day 1976, The Band played its farewell concert at Winterland in San Francisco. Friends like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, and Van Morrison came to say goodbye, and Martin Scorsese filmed it all for The Last Waltz, often called the greatest concert film ever made.

Seen through a Christian lens, The Last Waltz is a picture of finishing well and giving thanks. On a day set aside for gratitude, old friends gathered to honor the road they had traveled together. Every good season comes to an end, and the right way to close one is with thanksgiving and fellowship.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
