Rebecca Rogers and I met at the beginning of COVID. Looking back, I’m grateful that a time marked by so much uncertainty also brought a lasting friendship into my life.
Over the years, one thing I’ve come to appreciate about Rebecca is her passion for helping others. That passion is a big part of why I want to share her story—and introduce more people to Sparrow Health & Performance.
There is a deeply personal story behind Sparrow. On the clinic’s website, Rebecca’s son, Will Siskey, describes being diagnosed with alopecia as a teenager and his mother’s determination to keep searching for ways to help him. He credits that persistence as an important part of the family’s journey, which eventually inspired Sparrow’s creation. (sparrowclinic.com)
That story speaks to what I admire about my friend: her willingness to care enough to get involved. When someone you love is struggling, the questions become personal. You want them to be heard. You want them to have support. You want to know what else might be possible.
Sparrow describes itself as an integrative medical clinic focused on whole-body care. Its published mission emphasizes restoring hope and continuing to learn how to serve people. Those are the parts of its story that especially resonate with me. (sparrowclinic.com, sparrowclinic.com)
Rebecca and I have also become collaborators in We Rock Network, alongside David Gornoski. For me, the words Good news | Good music | Good works carry a responsibility: to tell stories about people we know, recognize the work they’re doing, and help others discover it.
This is one of those stories.
Our friendship began at the beginning of COVID, and I’m thankful it has continued beyond the circumstances that first brought us together. It means something to be able to look at a friend’s work and say, “I want people to know about this.”
Rebecca, thank you for your friendship and for your passion for helping others. I’m glad our paths crossed.
“Through love serve one another.” — Galatians 5:13
