Written by Bill and Janny Grein in 1978, “We’ve Been Made More Than Conquerors” takes its title straight from Romans 8. It isn’t a song about winning easy battles. It’s a song for people in the middle of the fight: tired, tested, and tempted to quit. Janny sings with the calm confidence of someone who has already read the last chapter. Victory here isn’t something we earn by trying harder. It’s something we receive because Christ has already overcome. Trouble still comes, but it doesn’t get the final word. Love does. Put this one on when the day feels heavy, and let it remind you whose you are.
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” — Romans 8:37
