GOOD NEWS | We See Through a Glass, Darkly

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:12

There are moments when the world seems impossible to understand. Headlines collide. Families struggle. Friends disagree. We search for certainty, yet the more we learn, the more we recognize how much remains beyond our sight.

The apostle Paul understood that tension.

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” — 1 Corinthians 13:12, KJV

In Paul’s day, a mirror was polished metal. It offered a reflection, but not the clarity we expect today. His image reminds us that even our strongest convictions are held by people with limited vision.

That is not a reason to stop seeking truth. It is a reason to seek it with humility.

We can ask difficult questions without pretending to possess every answer. We can disagree without treating neighbors as enemies. We can acknowledge mistakes, listen carefully, and leave room for grace.

This matters especially in a culture where outrage travels faster than understanding. A headline may tell us what happened, but rarely reveals the whole human story. Behind every argument are people carrying fears, hopes, memories, and burdens we cannot fully see.

Paul does not leave us in darkness. The very next verse points toward what endures: faith, hope, and love, with love greatest of all.

That gives us a compass when the picture is blurry.

At WeRockTV, Good News does not mean ignoring suffering or pretending the world is simple. It means looking for truth, courage, reconciliation, and the good people can still do for one another.

We may see through the glass darkly today. But we can choose how we respond to what we see.

Choose curiosity over certainty. Mercy over contempt. Truth over noise. Love over fear.

And when tomorrow brings new light, may we have the courage to revise yesterday’s judgments without surrendering today’s compassion.

The view may be incomplete. Our responsibility to love is not.
