Captain’s Log · Entry One

I was born in 1969, born again in faith, and have spent much of the time since trying to figure out what to do with the life God gave me.

Apparently, the instruction manual was misplaced somewhere between the record collection and the owner’s manual for my Harley-Davidson.

I’ve made mistakes. Some were spectacular. Others took years to recognize. I’ve experienced tremendous blessings, heartbreaking losses, unexpected detours, and enough second chances to make a reasonable man wonder whether heaven has an exceptionally generous return policy.

But this isn’t a story about me.

It’s about us.

Because sooner or later, every one of us discovers that life doesn’t always follow the script.

The marriage struggles. The job disappears. A friendship ends. Someone we love dies. We lose our bearings, our confidence, or perhaps even our faith.

Sometimes the storm comes from outside. Sometimes we’re the ones who left the windows open.

I’ve had plenty of experience with both.

Over the past year, I’ve learned some difficult lessons about humility, relationships, forgiveness, and the considerable distance between knowing what is right and actually doing it.

I’ve also discovered something remarkable: even in our darkest seasons, goodness has a way of finding us.

Sometimes it arrives through a friend. Sometimes through a stranger. Sometimes through a song we haven’t heard in forty years.

And sometimes through the quiet realization that we’re still here.

Still breathing.

Still learning.

Still capable of loving and being loved.

That’s what I want WeRockTV to celebrate.

Good News. Good Music. Good Works.

Three channels. One mission.

Good News doesn’t mean pretending the world is wonderful when it isn’t. It means looking for truth, hope, courage, and grace in a world that desperately needs them.

Good Music reminds us that a melody can cross generations, bridge differences, and reach places ordinary conversation cannot.

Good Works recognizes the people who don’t simply talk about making the world better. They roll up their sleeves and do something about it.

And Captain’s Log?

Well, that’s where we’ll occasionally gather around the campfire, compare scars, share a few laughs, and consider what this extraordinary, bewildering journey might be teaching us.

I believe Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of my life. I also believe that faith should make us more humble, more compassionate, and more willing to listen.

Not less.

We don’t have to agree about everything to recognize the humanity in one another.

We don’t have to share the same history to share a little hope.

And we certainly don’t have to be perfect to do something good today.

At 57, I’m beginning to understand that being reborn isn’t necessarily a single dramatic event.

Sometimes it’s simply waking up, thanking God for another morning, admitting yesterday’s mistakes, and trying again.

So wherever you are, whatever you’ve been through, and whatever you’re carrying today, welcome aboard.

There’s room for you here.

Bring your stories. Bring your questions. Bring your favorite songs.

We’ll figure out the rest together.

After all, the best part of rock and roll was never just the person holding the microphone.

It was everybody singing along.

Welcome to WeRockTV.

Trinity and Beyond.
