Another Roadside Attraction — Introduced by Alan Hunter
Some videos hold a whole chapter of your life.
This is the original Another Roadside Attraction, following our days as Exodus, being introduced at Mountain Brook Junior High School by Alan Hunter.
There we are: me, Jase Carns, on bass; Sims Crawford on guitar; Franklin Sechriest singing; and Brian West on drums. Four musicians sharing a stage, making music, and becoming part of one another’s stories.
Watching this now brings together two things that helped shape me: playing in bands and growing up with MTV.
MTV made music something you could see as well as hear. The personalities, the performances, the anticipation of what might come on next: all of it became part of how we experienced songs and discovered artists.
And here is Alan Hunter, someone connected to that world, introducing our band at our junior high school. That connection makes this footage meaningful to me.
I’m grateful we have a record of it.
You can tell stories about an old band for years, but a video lets people meet that version of you. There is the bass in my hands. There are the friends beside me. There is a moment that kept moving forward even though the camera managed to hold onto it.
This dedication is for Sims, Franklin, Brian, Alan, and everyone who remembers that chapter.
Thank you for sharing the music and giving me something worth looking back on.
That spirit lives in what I want to build with WeRockTV: a place where music has a face, a memory, and a human connection. A place to discover something, revisit something, and hear why it mattered to somebody.

Music has been one of those gifts in my life. So have the people I’ve been able to make it with.
Here’s to the original Another Roadside Attraction, the road out of Exodus, and the memories still playing.
With love,
Jase Carns
