The Lord of the Rings — J.R.R. Tolkien

J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic follows Frodo Baggins, a humble hobbit from the Shire, who must carry the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it. With Sam, Gandalf, Aragorn, and the Fellowship, he faces the dark power of Sauron.

Tolkien, a devout Christian and close friend of C.S. Lewis, wove faith throughout the story. The weak and small are chosen, mercy shown to Gollum ends up saving the world, and a returning king brings healing. Sam’s loyalty shows what faithful love looks like. Even in the darkest hour, hope remains, and evil never has the final word.

“God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” 1 Corinthians 1:27
