I asked for peace, but would not mend
the hurt I hurried to defend.
I blamed the voice that named my wrong
and drowned the bell with louder song.
But mercy whispered, “Stay and hear.
There is a wound beneath your fear.”
Lord, let my sorrow move my feet
toward those my pride refused to meet.
Let “I am sorry” find its worth
in what I now repair on earth.
Do not silence the bell. Answer it.
Let grace turn the heart—and walk with it.
