Miss You — The Rolling Stones

Miss You opens the Rolling Stones’ 1978 album Some Girls. It mixes disco with the blues, with Sugar Blue’s harmonica and Bill Wyman’s bass line, and it went to number one in America.

Seen through a Christian lens, Miss You is about the ache of an empty place, walking the streets at night and not being able to fill it. Every heart carries a longing like that. Augustine said our hearts are restless until they rest in God. The One we’re really missing is already looking for us.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” Psalm 42:1
