Emotional Rescue — The Rolling Stones
Emotional Rescue is the title track from the Rolling Stones’ 1980 album. Mick Jagger sings it in a falsetto over a disco groove, and the promo was shot with a thermal camera, so the band glows in heat colors.
Seen through a Christian lens, Emotional Rescue is the cry of someone who wants to be saved. Mick promises to ride in like a knight in shining armour. Human rescuers let us down, but there’s one Rescuer who never fails. Christ comes for us when we can’t save ourselves.
“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.” Psalm 18:16
