The Fear of the Lord Is the Beginning of Wisdom
Good News. Good Music. Good Works.
Every great journey begins somewhere. For WeRockTV, our Good News journey begins with a simple truth written thousands of years ago:
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” — Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)
What does it mean to fear the Lord?
Does God want us trembling in terror? Running away from Him? Hiding from His presence?
No.
The fear of the Lord begins with reverence, humility, and an understanding that we are not God. He is.
It means recognizing that creation has a Creator, that life has a purpose, and that wisdom begins when we stop pretending we know everything.
Think about a child standing beside the ocean. The waves are beautiful, powerful, and mysterious. The child doesn’t have to hate the ocean or run from it. But understanding its power teaches respect.
That’s a picture of reverence.
We live in an age when information travels faster than understanding. We have extraordinary technology, artificial intelligence, endless opinions, and answers available almost instantly.
But information isn’t necessarily knowledge. Knowledge isn’t necessarily understanding. And understanding isn’t necessarily wisdom.
Wisdom requires something deeper.
It requires humility.
Jesus taught us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
That’s where wisdom becomes action.
When we approach others with compassion instead of condemnation, curiosity instead of arrogance, and forgiveness instead of resentment, we begin putting that wisdom to work.
At WeRockTV, we believe Good News should inspire Good Music and lead to Good Works.
Not fear that divides us.
Reverence that unites us.
Not pride that blinds us.
Humility that opens our eyes.
Our first message is simple: Seek wisdom. Love your neighbor. Honor your Creator.
And remember that every sunrise offers another opportunity to begin again.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Let wisdom guide what comes next.
Welcome to Good News.
