Eight Alabama candidates running for state office are calling for an official investigation into the activities of the Virginia based American Conservative Fund (ACF), a political action committee tied to major national gambling interests including DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics Betting & Gaming.

According to recent reports from 1819 News, the PAC has spent heavily on Alabama political mailers and television advertisements while allegedly failing to properly file required financial disclosures with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office.

The candidates issued a joint statement demanding transparency and accountability regarding what they described as a “massive political effort” funded by out of state gambling money aimed at influencing Alabama elections. They argue Alabama voters deserve to know who is financing the campaigns flooding their mailboxes and television screens.

Federal Election Commission filings reportedly show that the American Conservative Fund received more than $26 million from “Win For America,” a PAC backed primarily by sports betting corporations.

The controversy has quickly become one of the biggest political stories heading into Alabama’s 2026 primary elections. Multiple candidates and political figures across the state have publicly distanced themselves from the PAC’s advertisements, claiming they neither approved nor coordinated with the campaign materials being distributed on their behalf.

Former Congressman Mo Brooks also warned that unprecedented gambling money is flowing into Alabama politics and could significantly impact both elections and future gambling legislation in the state.

Critics say the issue extends beyond gambling itself and centers on election transparency, disclosure laws, and the growing influence of outside money in Alabama politics. Supporters of the investigation are calling on state officials to immediately determine whether campaign finance laws have been violated and whether Alabama voters are receiving full disclosure about who is funding political messaging.
